• Wavefront (.rla) format was created for the Advanced Visualizer program, versions 2.11 and 3.0, as well as other Wavefront products. It is a run-length encoded type format.
• The Wavefront format specification supports multiple images in a single file [however, see NOTE below]. Frames may be different sizes and different color resolutions. Each frame is stored intact (there is no frame differencing).
• When opening a Wavefront file containing multiple frames, a "Multiple Frames" dialog will appear. Enter the frame number which you wish to open. It should be between 1 and the indicated number of frames.
• NOTE: there are no known applications which support Wavefront files which contain multiple frames. Therefore, DeBabelizer defaults to saving one Wavefront image per file. However, if saving multiple frames in a Wavefront file is desired, this option may be turned on via the Misc:Preferences:Writers:Wavefront Save Options dialog. Simply check the "Save Multiple Frames in a file" checkbox to turn on this option.
• Open Option: Select "Misc:Preferences:Readers:Wavefront" to bring up the Wavefront Open Options dialog box. This contains a checkbox which determines whether the image size will be determined by:
- the active image size, OR
- the entire window size.
The default setting is unchecked, which is for the active image size. Checking the box may result in a very large image with a lot of black space around the active part of the image.
